This blog was originally published on 30th April, but has been removed with the following statement:
Since publishing the blog piece about the industry reaction to allegations of sexual misconduct surrounding Noel Clarke, it has become clear that there is a very real danger of the opinion expressed in that piece being misconstrued and misrepresented. While the piece was about a general observation of the treatment of PoC in circumstances of judgement and reprimand, it is accepted that the example through which to have this conversation was not appropriate.
In order to be mindful of the very serious and sensitive nature of the allegations, and in order to reassert our support of the women, who are the victims, it would not be right for the piece to hijack a very important conversation, which needs to be had, underpinned by the ethos of #Metoo, which we unreservedly support. Therefore, the piece has been removed.
